Update from the Visioning Task Force

Our Visioning Task Force is still working hard for Trinity.  We would like to thank all of you for your assistance during our Table Talk meetings last month.  It was a wonderful time of fellowship and sharing.  Your thoughts and comments during those meetings have been compiled and will be studied by our group as we move forward to develop a mission statement for Trinity’s future.

We have heard that you want us to continue to do the things currently underway, but we have also heard that you want us to be able to reach out more to our members and to the community at large.  We have heard that you want to expand our music program and to be more sensitive to justice and political issues as they relate to our faith.  We have heard that you want Trinity to be multi-generational and open to the moving of the Spirit.  We have heard that you want Trinity to be open-minded and nurturing.  Our list goes on and on.  What has been made clear to us, although we are not surprised, Trinity is a congregation of intelligent, caring, and innovative Christians who are involved in making Trinity a church of which we can all be proud.

Trinity’s Elders and Deacons, as well as members of the Task Force, will be meeting next month for a Leadership Retreat to discuss the major themes of our Table Talk discussions as they relate to the theology, history, culture, and demographics of Trinity and our community as our sub-groups worked on. We ask for your continued prayers as we move toward the completion of this study and the implementation of our findings.
