What's New?

Global Missions Ministry is looking for new members!

Trinity has long prided itself for its involvement in missions outside of Henderson County (Local Missions covers Henderson County).  This involvement, however, does not just happen - we need to approve new requests, evaluate ongoing programs and learn of the Presbytery’s/PCUSA’s mission opportunities.  We meet once monthly on the third Tuesday in the Trinity Room at 7:00 p.m.  If you can spare the time, I can promise you a special opportunity to serve in God’s missions.  Call Glenn Walker at 891-2486.

Guatemala Missioin Trip

While the 2008 mission trip to Guatemala was postponed we are happy to say it is back on course to occur this year from December 26th to January 2nd. Eight members of Trinity are committed to making this trip: Carole Ball, Mike Cook, Michael Kanupp, Tim Kuykendall, Bev Luzadder, Beth Miller, Becky Stanley, and Emily Stanley. Plane tickets have been purchased and the final itinerary is being worked out. While this time of year enables us to take teachers and students it is an expensive time for plane tickets. The share of expenses that members of the team must pay is therefore also more expensive. To help reduce this expense we are planning a fund raising dinner, October 24th, similar to the Surf and Turf dinner we did last fall. Please make plans now to sign up for this exquisite dinner. If you are unable to attend donations for this mission trip are welcomed. Check should be written to: Trinity, for: Guat. Mission Trip. We ask that you keep the members of this team in your prayers as we continue to listen for God’s direction in planning this trip.

Realizing that due to the rising cost of gas (plane tickets, etc.) and other expenses this trip will cost up to $1800 per person. For many of us this is of major concern.  While some of the expenses will be off set by aid from Global Ministry and Endowment funds we feel that fund raising may still be needed. If you should feel led to give support to those going on this mission trip, contributions may be made to the Guatemala Mission Trip Fund (017-04-01-22)
