Matthew 25 Task Force

The ruler will say to those on the right, ‘Come, you blessed of my Abba God! Inherit the kindom prepared for you from the creation of the world! For I was hungry and you fed me; I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me; naked and you clothed me. I was ill and you comforted me; in prison and you came to visit me.’ (From The Inclusive Bible)

Trinity has always had an exceptionally vibrant mission effort with bulk of our efforts in providing emergency assistance. Now Trinity is engaged in the process of discerning if we want  to make a more permanent difference in our local and global communities by becoming a Matthew 25 Congregation.

PCUSA’S Matthew 25 Vision asks congregations to participate in at least one of these Focus areas:

  • Building Congregational Vitality–growing in spiritual strength & capacity for purposeful mission

  • Eradicating Systemic poverty–fighting the economic exploitation of people who are poor through laws, policies, practices and systems that perpetuate their impoverished status

  • Dismantling Structural Racism–confronting deeply ingrained racist systems and structures in our communities and country
